  15. <p>     DIED. BILL BIXBY, 59, TV actor and director; of prostate cancer;
  16. in Los Angeles. Bixby brought likable good looks and a sly way
  17. of reading a line to leading roles in a variety of TV series:
  18. My Favorite Martian (1963-66), in which he played cheerfully
  19. besieged reporter Tim O'Hara opposite Ray Walston's interplanetary
  20. visitor; The Courtship of Eddie's Father (1969-72); The Magician
  21. (1973-74) and The Incredible Hulk (1978-82), the setting for
  22. Bixbys surprisingly poignant performance as a scientist who,
  23. when enraged, turned into a green-skinned giant (played by body
  24. builder Lou Ferrigno). Even as he battled cancer, Bixby directed
  25. TV, most recently NBC's sitcom Blossom.
